PRELUDE | OIC-CERT Technical Workshop 2011:
Introduction:
The rapid global change in various fields and dimensions especially in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) demands mastery in the use of information in the acquisition and dissemination of new knowledge and technology. However, the widespread utilization of ICT has raised concerns in relation to information security, which have effects to the public and the nation. The increase of cyber threats and crimes with damaging effects to interdependent network and information systems has stipulated a more serious attention to be given to the critical information infrastructure protection initiatives.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation – Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) was formed to assist member countries to build cyber security capabilities and strengthen the existing capacity through knowledge sharing and experiences. This international collaboration platform in Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) provide exchange of ideas and expertise and promote joint development on measures to deal with large-scale cyber security incidents. This will result in economic value creation and fostering greater trust, long-term friendship and business cooperation among member countries.
The OIC-CERT is undertaking effective strategies to provide the necessary training and capacity building programs in order to develop technical capabilities in the area of cyber security amongst the OIC-CERT member countries.
The fee for the workshop is MYR3,000 per person. Seats are limited to ensure maximum interaction and attention between the instructors and participants. Please make early reservation to avoid disappointment.
Note: Due to very limited funding, only selected OIC-CERT member countries will be eligible for one sponsorship that covers course fee, accommodation and economy airfare. The airfares have cost ceilings and the sponsored participant will cover any additional cost on the fare.
